The Pediatric Associates of Kentwood story
When Drs. Dana Leary and Jim Jokerst finished their Pediatric training in 1992, they knew 2 things: that they wanted to work together, and that they wanted to do Pediatrics their way, working face-to-face with the children they served, delivering competent care and compassion in equal amounts. So they created Pediatric Associates of Kentwood from the ground up, designing the office space, interviewing potential staff, walking through Office Depot filling a shopping cart, and finally opening the doors in Fall of 1992. Since then they've been caring for children from infancy up to the brink of adulthood and now, many 2nd generation and even 3rd generation kids. Dana and Jim have married, raised 2 sons, and if you recognize our support staff, there's a reason: many of our current staff members have been with us for at least 20 years!
Our Doctors
Dana Leary, MD
Dr. Leary was born in Grand Blanc, Michigan and attended Michigan State University and the University of Michigan Medical School. She received her medical degree in 1989 and on completing her residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan cofounded Pediatric Associates of Kentwood in 1992. She is married to Dr. Jokerst and they have 2 grown sons.
James Jokerst, MD
Dr. Jokerst was born in Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan and Michigan State College of Human Medicine. He received his medical degree in 1988 and on completing his residency and chief residency at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan cofounded Pediatric Associates of Kentwood in 1992. He is married to Dr. Leary and they have 2 grown sons.

Remember - Summertime is Check-up time. Many children will need school physicals, sport physicals, camp physicals, and openings fill up fast. Call for your appointment now.

Don't forget that on Wednesdays only Dr. Leary is in and on Fridays only Dr. Jokerst is in, so if you need to come in on one of those days you may not be able to see your regular doctor. But no worry; the other doctor will be happy to see your child.
